As a Leader You Should Help Them See Their Weak Points.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:de--><\/p>\n<p>This post covers the sixth tenet in John Maxwell&#8217;s book &#8211;<em> enlarging other people<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1796\" src=\"http:\/\/selfimprovement.info-just-for-u.com\/blogger\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Communication-withPeople-Across-Cultures-1.jpg\" alt=\"enlarge-people\" width=\"280\" height=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For many people, just because you want to enlarge others does not mean you are ready.\u00a0 You might have to do some work on yourself first.\u00a0 As Mr. Maxwell says in <em>Becoming a Person of Influence<\/em>, &#8220;..if you want to do more for others, you have to become more yourself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is because while you can teach what you know to others, <em>you can only reproduce what you are<\/em>.\u00a0 When you mentor others, you do 4 things for them:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Enlarging people<\/li>\n<li>Helping them navigate through life&#8217;s problems<\/li>\n<li>Connecting with them on a deeper level<\/li>\n<li>Helping them reach their greatest potential<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It is important to help people see what their weak points and strong points are, of course, so you can help them grow.\u00a0\u00a0 When you assist someone in enlarging themselves, you <em>benefit them by enabling them to step up to a new level of living<\/em>.\u00a0 And that&#8217;s really accomplishing something. I know that here in North Dakota I see many people who will not &#8220;grow themselves&#8221; and yet they sit on the bar stool complaining about their lives.\u00a0 (Geesh)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1797\" src=\"http:\/\/selfimprovement.info-just-for-u.com\/blogger\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Guy-2.png\" alt=\"communication-hope\" width=\"240\" height=\"220\" \/>As Denis Waitley said, &#8220;<em>The greatest achievements are those which benefit others<\/em>.&#8221; \u00a0\u00a0 It is quite rewarding in and of itself.\u00a0 You should try it!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Seize the opportunity.<\/h4>\n<p>When you enlarge somebody, you do this for them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase Their<strong> Chances for Success<\/strong> (i.e. when you <strong>broaden their horizon<\/strong>, they begin to see things in a new way.\u00a0 They increase their skills, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">improve their attitudes<\/span>, learn new ways to do things etc.<\/li>\n<li>Increase Their <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Potential for Growth<\/span> &#8211; It will have more than just a slight effect.\u00a0 That is, when you equip these people for success by <em>enlarging them, <\/em>they become better able to seize on an opportunity or fully utilize a resource or tool you provide to them<\/li>\n<li>Are Permanently Altered for the Future &#8211; <em>When you have an impact on someone&#8217;s life<\/em>, their are forever impacted.\u00a0 Their horizons broaden.\u00a0 As you help them develop their talents, their<br \/>\n<h2>quality of life<\/h2>\n<p>improves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So in essence, your<\/p>\n<h3>leadership talents<\/h3>\n<p>(or abilities) have a direct impact on how much you&#8217;re able to influence other people.\u00a0 That is why I say you may want to do some work on yourself first before you set about to lead and influence others.<br \/>\nBe a <strong>Patient Leader<\/strong> Yet not Too Patient:<\/p>\n<p>You should choose very wisely the people you want to <em>enlarge<\/em>.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t want to waste time on those <em>you don&#8217;t genuinely<\/em> believe in.\u00a0 <em>They probably ought to have a life philosophy similar to yours<\/em>.\u00a0 Also, you should start <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">when the time is right<\/span>; that is, the situation must be right.<\/p>\n<p>If you start <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">before<\/span> the individual realizes he needs to grow, then it is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">waste of your time<\/span> &amp; theirs.\u00a0 Begin too late, and you&#8217;ve missed your best chance to help them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/selfimprovement.info-just-for-u.com\/blogger\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/becoming-a-person-of-influence1-103x150.jpg\" alt=\"Book by John Maxwell\" \/><br \/>\nJohn Maxwell&#8217;s Best Selling <a title=\"Becoming a Person of Influence\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0785288392?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=jalycorn-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0785288392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Becoming a Person of Influence<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Realize some are eager to be enlarged, while others don&#8217;t care about personal growth.\u00a0 It is your job to determine which is which.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2017\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/selfimprovement.info-just-for-u.com\/blogger\">Selfimprovement.info-just-for-u.com\/blogger<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><!--:de-->This post covers the sixth tenet in John Maxwell&#8217;s book &#8211; enlarging other people.<br \/>\nFor many people, just because you want to enlarge others does not mean you are ready.
